I’m not one of those guys who thinks these cars are race cars or sports cars or better than they actually are. But they’re pretty good and this is a damn fine one.

I’m staring at my unicorn right now. 96 coupe, manual, black, stock except for period correct 13" aftermarket wheels. Mine is only a DX, so no VTEC. On the plus side it only weighs 2200lbs.

Don’t worry I still have the stock 13" steelies and huncaps. I found these wheels really cheap and I did not have to buy new tires. My headlights/sidemarkers are what comes on the car. The post facelift ones do look much better.

Cool, but I’ll be truly impressed if I ever spot a stock one from the gen before. That car was peak Civic to me (excluding the Type-Rs of course).

A few factors behind it. Namely, low odds of being caught, ease of theft, and ease of resale for used parts. Old Hondas, especially VTEC models, consistently rank among the most stolen cars.

They are usually worth pocket money here too, but there’s a huge aftermarket - the fast and furious stuff never really died off. I bet the lack of computers makes them easy to steal and break, too.

I remember some years ago, a co-worker had an early 90s Accord coupe, a highline model with leather. It got stolen and turned into nearly a shell, missing the interior and wheels.
